Our Story

Labnote idea started in 2016, by Dr Amy Li who was then a PhD students after she observed various problems in the traditional mode of laboratory learning. The first manifestation of the idea was during the UCL Learnhack event of summer 2016. By November 2016, Labnote was chosen to be one of the leading projects to be pitched to organizers.

Between 2017 and 2018 Labnote was selected by various national and international competitions such as UCLe Moonshoot launchpad, UCL hatchery training programmes and the Chunhui cup from the Chinese embassy. In 2019 Labnote was awarded by the Researcher-led initiatives, UCL and Panacea Stars business competition in Oxford, UK.

In 2021, Labnote was accepted into the UCL Hatchery with an award of training, office space and other resources worth £20,000.00.
In 2022, we received funding from the UCL Division of Surgery and Interventional Science to help push Labnote towards the goal of creating an MVP.
